Cultivating Gardens

We are in full swing with our gardens as summer rolls on: fertilizing, weeding, watering; all that goes into having good vegetation. How about our spirit? Are we tending to our inner garden where God's Spirit dwells if we are trusting Jesus? Our inner garden, our spirit, needs the daily nutrients of God's Word, prayer, fellowship with other believers and sharing in the Lord's Supper. How is your garden growing?

Listening for For God

Many wonder how to hear God's voice. Is He heard in the rustling wind and beauties of nature, the starry skies above, the voices of great leaders? Where do we go to hear His voice? Christian faith says we hear His Voice through His Word, the Bible. Take time with your Bible and pray that God would speak to your heart and mind through its Words. They are inspired by God's Spirit "for doctrine, reproof, correction and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:15,16)

Our Creator God

God still creates today. We see this in the beauty of spring; the colors of nature bursting forth in flowers, blossoming plants and bushes "aflame with the glory of God" as someone has said. More wonderful than nature's beauty is someone coming alive to God. This is called "being born again". "If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has gone. The new has come!" (II Cor.5:17)

 

Praise God for continuing to create new people through His Word as Jesus is received and trusted!

Pentecost

Birthdays are great times of celebration. Today, celebrate the church's birthday as Jesus poured out the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and many other believers. This is not only history but present-day truth for all who desire the infilling of God's Holy Spirit.

 

"For the promise is to you and to your children and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:39)

 

Ask and receive the infilling of God's Spirit for power and growth in your Christian life!

Sunday, April 27th

Welcome to our fellowship! We worship and follow Jesus as Lord and invite you gather with us! Our ventures this week are:

        Wednesday, 6:15  Prayer, followed by Bible studies at 7:00 p.m.

                                        * The men are studying the Lord's Prayer and women are studying

                                           "Falling in Love with Jesus" - a closer fellowship with Him.

        Thursday,  7:00 a.m. National Day of Prayer at New Life Foursquare in Laurel. We

                                            gather to pray for the needs of our nation and communities.

                           7:30 p.m. Training for Celebrate Recovery. We are learning this Christian

                                            approach to addictions recovery.
